15 BEST FILMS OF BEST ACTORS TO WATCH IN COVID 19 TIME

Corona virus or covid 19 is relentlessly suffusing in our society and in our minds too. Our loved ones are in tormenting quarantine and it makes a pernicious effect in our mind. Our mindsets, way of thinking and behavior have been changing from the incipient spread of covid 19. In home, we spend most of our time in entertainment and mind relaxing things. The daily corona updates exasperate us, so focusing on entertainment like reading, watching movies, series, listening to music and etc can help you to step back from depression and its futility.  

Here I suggests you a list of 15 movies best actors ( not stars ) around the globe but they are not the only best movies in the world. Indeed they are must watch movies and they are best to watch in covid 19 period. 

Among the 15 movies, five are virus based films and rest of them are feel good drama films.

And the disturbing fact is that real abola virus was there in Zaire when the film was released. The film was a huge box office success. 


4. 28 Days Later : This is a British thriller film released in 2002, a post apocalyptic film directed by Danny Boyle. Cillian Murphy, Naomie Harris, Christopher Ecclerton and Megan Burns are in lead cast. This film talks about the survivors after the breakdown of society due to the accidental and perilous release of a contagious virus. Audience and critics evaluated the film as one of the classical zombie film. 


3. Virus : This is an Indian film in malayalam language. Released in 2019, Virus is directed by Aashiq Abu based on the real nippah virus outbreak in the city of Calicut in Kerala. Starring Kunchako Boban, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Tovino Thomas in lead roles, the film has a good number of well known actors in its supporting cast. Even this film was a mediocre in theatre responses, it got excellent critical responses and acclaimed by festival audience.

It talks about a highly contagious and deadly H5N1 that kills people in 36 hours from the moment of infection. Starring Jang Hyuk and Soo Ae in important roles, audience praised this film as a classic entertainer.

Starring Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow, director adopted a realistic way of portrayal and it could help the film more convincing and relating to the real events. Contagion talks about a deadly virus, it's spread, how people fight and the invention of vaccine. Film lovers and critics praised this film as a must watch experience in medical thriller genre.

10. 96 : Ninty Six is a tamil romantic drama film directed by C Prem Kumar. Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Thrisha Krishnan, the film was released in 2018 and got an overwhelming theatre response. The genuine portrayal of unconditional love and innocent romance between the characters made the film as a classic in Indian Cinema. Also, music director Govind Vasantha's background score is a scaffold to the whole film. 


9. Marriage Story : Marriage Story is a 2019 drama film directed by Noah Baumbach. The film has Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver in lead cast. Marriage story openly points the real issues in an artificial marriage system. A married couple's struggles with life, breakdown and their divorce is the sum total of the film. Released by netflix, Marriage Story got six nominations in 92th Academy Awards. 


8. Chhichhore : This is a hindi comedy drama film released in 2019. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sharddha Kapoor in important roles. Chhichhore was a huge blockbuster in theatres because of it's well placed screenplay, direction,  acting and moreover the portrayal of ideas such as sportsman spirit and optimistic views about the things happening in one's life. Chhichhore got five nominations in 65th FilmFare. Chhichhore was the last theatrically released film of Sushant Singh before his unexpected demise.

Starring Christian Bale, Matt Damon in lead roles, the film talks about the passion, craze and betrayal in the sports car competition. The film got Academy Award for film editing and sound editing and nominated for best picture and sound mixing.

4. Superbad : Superbad is a 2007 American teen comedy film directed by Greg Mottola and starring Jonah Hill, Michael Cera in lead roles. The film picturize a story about two high school boys, want to party and lose their virginity before graduating. It was a thrilled and funny experience to watch superbad. The film got excellent critical responses and it was listed as one of the Empire's 500 greatest films of all the time. Also, it got best screenplay and best actor for Michael Cera in Canadian Comedy Awards 2008.


3. Boyhood : Boyhood is a 2014 American drama film directed by Richard Linklater and starring Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette and Lorelei Linklater. The filming of boyhood was started on 2001 and completed in 2013. As depicted in title, the film is the boyhood or childhood and adolescence of Mason Evans Jr. The film got excellent theatrical response, critical acclamations, British Academy Film Award for best film and Academy Award for best supporting actress. 


2. American Beauty : American Beauty is a 1999 romantic drama film directed by Sam Mendes. The film has Kevin Spacey, Wes Bentley, Mena Suvari, Annette Bening and Thora Birch in important roles. American beauty deserve to preside in the list of all time must watch films just because of it's riveting beauty. Lester Burnham, a middle aged man's infatuation towards a teen girl and how other characters are connected to the theme, their weird and mystical behaviours and it's consequences makes the whole story. The film have great critical acclamation and excellent response from audience around the globe. American beauty won 5 Academy Awards for best picture, Best original screenplay, best camera, best director and best actor for Kevin Spacey. 


1. Forrest Gump : Forrest Gump is a 1994 American comedy drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti williamson in important roles. The film talks about different situations in Forrest Gump's decades of life. The film got wide critical acclamation and praised as an evergreen blockbuster film. Forrest Gump had won Academy Awards for best picture, best director, best actor for Tom Hanks, best adapted screenplay, best visual effects and best film editing. If you ask me about Forrest Gump I would say ' it is a phenomenon happens only once in a century ' 


   
     I know that there are hundreds of must watch films other than the above mentioned films. I selected these films because I could relax myself and feel the characters are real, real like a passenger who sit opposite to me in my train to Kochi and talks to me like a relative. But things are varying with perspectives and I hope you will watch the above mentioned films. And comment your must watch films too.
